There seem to be no black and white answer to this question. LLC converters have become very popular in recent years but the fact is that LCC converters were the first multiresonant converters that penetrated the market. They were found to be effective in very high output voltage applications like X ray HV power supplies. The main attribute of the LLC converter is its ability to cope with a relatively wide load range. However, when it comes to gain range, the LCC converter has the upper hand. There are of course other differences that will make the LCC or LLC more suitable for a given application. These difference are discussed in the second part of the tutorial on LLC versus LCC converters: ” LCC versus LLC converters: Part II. Basic characteristics” (https://youtu.be/fzQiQL6QHP8 ) which all are welcome to watch.
